I am late getting this posted…I’ll blame it on allergies and the Benadryl induced haze. I really dislike allergies. This past week turned out to be busy and bittersweet. Everyone got haircuts…except me and I really need to get my hair done soon. My silver roots are showing. Some days I think it might be nice to just let it go…but only some days. Sparkles had about eight inched of hair cut off and sent it to Locks of Love. She looks older to me with her haircut. Middle Boy lost a front tooth and received the honor of being the first of my children to get a bee sting. As much as I love to watch them grow I also feel so very sad and I really struggled with my feelings this week.

We spent most of the week looking forward to Friday. The crew worked hard on their schoolwork so we could take Friday off. We had a fun day with our friends and enjoyed our last Friday swim of the year. I’m sad to let our summer fun go but hopefully we can find some excuses this fall and winter to get together. We’ve had a great summer and I feel so very blessed because of these new friendships. I am also grateful for the positive impact the older boys have on Oldest and Middle Boy. I think Littlest will miss cuddling in the pool with Mrs. S. Several times this summer he curled up in her lap and napped.

Discussions during church this week were interesting. We ended up discussing the Rapture during our Wednesday night Bible study. Our pastor even came in and discussed his beliefs with the class. Then the topic came up again in Sunday School this morning and all the songs during worship were “second coming” songs! How crazy is that? I know there are many opinions on the last days and how it is all going to happen and everyone can back their views up with Scripture. I honestly just don’t know…I asked my granny about it once a long time ago. She didn’t know either. She also told me that if God really wanted me to understand such mysteries He’d send me a burning bush and let me know. She always said things like that…and I miss her.
I’m getting sappy!

Anyway, I went to a homeschool used book sale and came back with several treasures. I snatched up several of the Genevieve Foster and other history books and English from the Roots Up text and vocabulary cards. Book sales are awesome! Next week will be a wild week for us. The two oldest will be celebrating their birthdays’ and we’ll be prepping for my mother’s visit. I also joined up on a fitness challenge that starts tomorrow…what was I thinking?!

Sounds like a great week…and your daughter’s haircut is adorable! I completely agree it is bittersweet watching them grow up:( My oldest is 10 today! How do these things happen?! Great book sale finds too!

My Oldest turns 10 on Friday and Sparkles turns 8 on Thursday. We are not going to have school those two days. How does ten years go by so quickly?!

I really can’t figure it out…the days seem so long sometimes, but in the end the years just fly by! Happy birthday to your two kiddos! Today starts birthday season in our house…each of the kids has a fall birthday (even though today is technically still summer, it is close enough!) and they are all about 2 weeks apart. God really does have a sense of humor:)

My dear friend, I am going to have to write a post just for you and your allergies! I hate to see you suffer but hope your family is toughing it out. So your son is an archer? You’d get along great with my sister who lives on a pheasant farm and home schooled all of her children as well. I continue to remember your brother in my prayers. Blessings,

I worked for a Teen Challenge Home of Hope for Women and Children for a couple of years. It’s amazing how God changes lives through His Word! I’m praying where he’s at, it’s a faith based solution to his challenges as well. Blessings to you all,
