Well, it has been two weeks since I posted a weekly journal. We are not doing much in the homeschool at the moment. Everyone is wrapping up topics and chapters before the break. I’ll have to spend a bit of time over the break comparing where we are and where we need to be and make any necessary adjustments for the remainder of the year. I do not mind being a bit behind at this point since we tend to hit our stride during the winter months.
I decided to switch over to a bullet journal for the next year. Separate planners for school and life are driving me nuts and sometimes I mess up the schedule. I’ve never been happy with any of the homeschool lesson planners available anyway. Most of them are too elaborate and I only use about half of the space. I’ve come to realize that having separate planners for life and school is just silly…this is all one lifestyle for me.

Getting started on the bullet journal (bujo for short) has got me thinking about setting goals for next year. I already have everything set up for my temperature blanket. I’ve practiced the bamboo stitch and am ready to start my first big knitting project. I’m looking forward to knitting my first blanket. Littlest wants his own blanket too and for me to make him a pair of socks.
Earlier this week we took Sparkles to Louisville to see her specialist. So far the doctor is happy with her progress. The occasional bad day is going to happen but for now all seems to be going well. We did learn that she will have to be checked for colon cancer in seven years. I think I’ll always be worried about her. Afterward we went up to Cincinnati. We stopped by Chamoda’s Candy Café and picked up a few goodies. Then we went to Donato’s pizza for a nice lunch before

going to the zoo. Sparkles cannot have pizza but she is a big fan of cheesy bread. We then went to the zoo to enjoy the Christmas lights. They have a nice show this year and maybe we’ll try to go one more time after Christmas.
This weekend was my husband’s office party. Our friend Cindy came to watch the kids so we could enjoy a night out. She brought Christmas gifts for the kids and I think they just have a great big party while we are gone. Littlest was sad when it was time for her to leave that he just clung to her and was near tears. My husband and I enjoyed our evening out. The office party was at the Belterra Casino and Resort again this year. The food and music were good and I had a pretty good time just people watching. My favorite part of the night was soaking in the spa tub that was in our room. If they have the office party again there next year I plan to bring some bubble bath with me next time. After a nap I joined my husband in the casino for a snack at about two in the morning and watched him play roulette for a while.
I am not ready for school tomorrow.
