Middle Boy received his braces and expander this week. His best buddy in the neighborhood got his braces the same day. What were the odds of such a coincidence? The expander is awful. Every night we have to turn it in order to widen his upper teeth. In other words we have to break the soft cartilage in the roof of his mouth so there is room for his adult teeth. Tonight Middle Boy informed me that he heard the soft “pop” that means the cartilage broke loose. At least the turning of the expander should be less painful for him now. I will be glad when that particular part of his orthodontic work is complete.
Sparkles completed her first week of math lessons with her Daddy as teacher. Neither of them have begged for me to take over so I’m gonna say their arrangement is working out just fine.

I took Sparkles out for breakfast on Saturday morning. We decided to try Bojangle’s since neither of us had been there before. She mostly chatted about Warrior Cats and I tried very hard to listen and keep up with the characters. We discussed some ideas for the next project week coming up in March. We picked up food and treats for the cat and bunnies. She picked out some fancy gel pens for herself and announced she was ready to go home. Sparkles is not much of a shopper.
Earlier this week ( I do not remember the exact day) Brave Writer sent me a sweetly worded rejection note. Even though I was a bit disappointed I wasn’t upset. I also felt slightly relieved and like a weight had lifted from my soul. Those feelings did surprise me. I feel somewhat disconnected from many of the groups and circles I have belonged to recently. I left several Facebook groups this week mostly over political posts. Some far to the left and others far to the right. I just want to learn how to be a better home educator. I do not want to

wade through hateful dialog from either side to search for useful knowledge. I am seriously considering leaving Facebook completely…
My husband and I managed to enjoy a lunch out together this weekend. I miss getting to spend time with him now that I am working evenings. So it was nice for just the two of us to hang out together for a bit. Work is going fine. According to my co-workers, Friday was one of the worst days ever. After spending years with toddlers (and you do know how emotionally stable they can be!!) I didn’t think the day was all that bad. I do not know but maybe those mindfulness techniques I’ve been practicing really do work.

Beautiful photos. And I can so relate to the heated discussions of the far to the left and far to the right crazies. Oops, did I call them all crazies? It’s just like seriously–you can’t possible feel this strongly on every single issue your party has…bleh….On a lighter note, I love these pretty photos, and yes, what can compare to toddlers?

I’m glad you had some fun this weekend. You would’ve been great for Brave Writer but Im glad you feel relief. I quit FB years ago and have never looked back. I found it to be too worldly and definitely negative. I’m glad you’re weeding out what you don’t need in your life. Sending out cyber hugs! 💖

I have been fighting that battle with FB, something I have considered except for the groups, and I hear there is an app just for FB groups, it is so tempting and in a good way.
OHHHH and the expander, that is what Abigail will have, Lord help me when that time comes!
I understand about being relieved, that feeling, it is good! Hugs sista!

Your near the water! It looks beautiful there. Sorry your little one was sick. We’ve had back to colds here, and have coughing and sneezing since 2017 began. I can’t wait for that to be over.
What a nuisance colds are!
I left FB several years ago and never looked back. I don’t miss it.
There are a couple WP blogs I follow that are starting to wade into Politics…much further and I’m dropping them. It’s not why I’m here! I want to read poetry, learn about art, and photography, and share some of my photography, and travels so, I hear you!
Sorry about the publisher not picking up your book, but since you feel so much relief it must not be the right time.
Hope you have a great week, and no one else gets sick this winter!

How is Katie and her UC? You have yet to divulge what your position is at Kroger’s and how many nights you work.

I can sympathise with middle boy, I had to have the winding brace too at night. It’s sort the pain and hassle in the long run. My thoughts are with the little guy. As for Facebook, I haven’t told many people this, but I hate facebook. I get asked asked “why don’t I post on there more?” so I say, who wants to know when I am leaving for work or I just bout some milk. I only have a business page just as an outlet for the blog. I just don’t understand the fascination of it and people venting anger all over it. I certainly wouldn’t blame you for leaving it. Anyway my rant over now, sorry. 😂

I feel you on the Facebook thing. I’ve left a lot of groups, one of the major reasons being politics. I’ve been booted from a group because I didn’t follow the political stance of the rest of the group, though it was supposed to be a place for open minded debate. It can be draining. I finally deleted the app from my phone and check Facebook every couple of days. My life has been so much better for it.

I’ve never had a FB account and going on the above comments, am glad of it. All the best to your young man enduring the struggle with braces. Our twins have had them for a year now and finally got the terrible invasive roof palette removed. They can finally taste food again!

The roof palette is awful! We loved the box!!! The banana cinnamon tea is very tasty. I wasn’t sure about banana and tea together but it is like banana bread in a cup!
